In 1990, Fields established his practice, Gale A. Fields, Architect, in Orange County. Gale has over 30-years of Architectural programming, design and documentation experience, and is currently licensed and registered to practice Architecture in California. 

Gale A Fields is an Architect and a Professor. He commenced his career at The University of Cal Irvine in Civil Engineering; and later, transferred to the University of Cal Berkeley in the College of Environmental Design, where he received his Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Architecture degrees. As a UC Berkeley graduate student, Gale commenced internship with the notable firm of MBT Associates in San Francisco. Following graduation, after learning of his mother’s ill health, Gale returned to Orange County and continued his internship with the Newport Beach firm of Thomas Moon and Associates, the Facilities Planning division of The Irvine Company, and the award wining firm of the Smets Architectural Group, where he later achieved VP-commercial division.

 

 In addition to his professional practice, Fields is a Professor and holds teaching credentials for California, and has been a part-time faculty member at Mt San Antonio College over the last decade. He has provided mentorship to students entering the Architectural profession, and presented at career day assemblies for secondary schools. He continues his professional education, with personal research, that focuses on the study of "Aesthetics”---an investigation into the archetypes of geometric patterns & forms, which constitute an archetype-language & cultural code, relative to the elevation of societal sensibilities.

 

 Mr. Fields is a member of the American Institute of Architects, where he has served as an associate Communications Officer; and a pass-member of the National Organization of Minority Architects, where he served as an Executive Board Officer.  He is also a member of the Alumni Associations of UC Irvine and UC Berkeley. In addition, he has held positions on several City agencies & professional organizations, e.g., serving as a Commissioner for the Housing Authority, and the Parks & Recreations Commission for the city of Santa Ana, California. His peers have acknowledged his accomplishments, and various Clients have honored him with their appreciation awards.
